Dad Arrested for Child's Drawing

via Mr. G Guy, with whom I rarely agree. This is an exception.

What I take from this story is that we need federal gun control laws. The mish-mash of sometimes conflicting regulations we have now allow for some states to charge 9-year-olds with crimes, leaving the parents out of it, while other states arrest parents for a kid's drawing.

The laws need to be consistent. What's your opinion?

  1. Everyone so far missed the point. This is in Canada. Didn't you hear? The CROWN will have trouble using the girl as a witness a-GAINST her father.

What this does illustrate is the absurdities that happen when a nation tries this level of gun control.

    1. Thanks. I thought it was in the States, but that explains a lot.

  2. Canada already has federal gun control.

  4. Thanks for the link. I see another commentator already pointed out that this happened in Canada.

Another development in Canada has been their recent dismissal of the long gun registry. As one of the members of the Parliament said, " The long gun registry hasn't saved one Canadian life and we need to do away with it."

    1. I'm sure one member of Parliament said that, but others have said something quite different.

I hadn't noticed this incident was in Canada. I still agree with you that it's ridiculous.

    2. To be sure, left wing politicians and the radicals of Quebec whined and wrung their hands, but the long gun registry is gone. Who knows, perhaps more is to follow.
