Gun Registry in Illinois

The Rev. Michael Pfleger talks with Mayor Rahm Emanuel

The proposal would require anyone who buys a handgun to pay a $65 registration fee. To register a gun, a purchaser would need to provide his name, address and phone number, along with the weapon's manufacturer and serial number and the place and date of purchase. The registry would be in addition to the firearm ownership standards all gun owners must already meet.
Sounds good to me. What do you think?

  1. Anything Rahm wants is probably a piss poor idea anyway.

  2. I take it that Emanuel wants Chicago to break away from Illinois, since the downstate opposes this and actually wants concealed carry to be enacted. But with regard to his proposals, it's already difficult to get approved to own a firearm in the state. This plan would only burden legal gun owners. Criminals won't be affected until they're caught with a gun.

  3. Tiny Ballerino is not going to get what he wants, down state NRA "DEMS" are going to give his retarded little ideas the crib death they so richly deserve.....

  4. I think it is only fitting that Chicago has a mayor who is the son of a member of a terrorist gang.

Emanuel was born in Chicago, Illinois to Jewish parents.[6] His father, Benjamin M. Emanuel, is a Jerusalem-born[10] pediatrician who was once a member of the Irgun, a Jewish paramilitary organization that operated in Mandate Palestine.

    2. Huh? He's Jewish, as were his parents. What strange notions you have, Mikeb.

But not if it's a gift or stolen? and they want to exclude the poor from protecting themselves.

To register a gun, a purchaser would need to provide his name, address and phone number,
So now they exclude the Amish and the homeless from protecting themselves.

along with the weapon's manufacturer and serial number and the place and date of purchase.
Again, no registration if the firearm is a gift or stolen, boy, that's one way to go after those criminals.

The registry would be in addition to the firearm ownership standards all LAWFUL gun owners must already meet.
    there, if fixed it.

It sucks and will do nothing to curtail any violent crime and essentially makes protecting your home a luxury.
