Washington State Gun Thief Facing 123 Years

The Spokesman-Review reports

A convicted felon from Stevens County now faces a minimum of 123 years in prison after a jury found him guilty today of 21 new felonies that were tied to the slaying last year of a Colville man.

The jury deliberated about three hours before finding Christopher G. Nichols, who turned 27 Thursday, guilty of nine counts of a felon in a possession of a firearm and nine counts of theft of a firearm, burglary, auto theft and trafficking in stolen property in the first degree.

Nichols “was responsible for the theft of the weapon that was used to kill Gordon Feist,” Stevens County Prosecutor Tim Rasmussen said. “We got everybody who was responsible for the senseless murder of Mr. Feist.”
If he ends up getting more than 5 or 10 years I'll call it excessive. Shared responsibility has to be proportionate to the involvement. The guy who pulls the trigger in a murder should get the long years, the others involved should receive some for their part, but not like this.

  1. Ah, ok. You want to indict all law-abiding gun owners based on a statistically-insignificant tragedy, but when hardened recidivist criminals misuse guns, you want to go all soft on them. You must be a Democrat. Of course I also note your ".uk" e-mail address which suggests that you might not even be an American. If that's the case, why do you even care about our rights and laws? I mean, it's not as if Britain isn't collapsing under an onslaught of hostile immigrants, an out-of-control welfare system, and violent crime now, is it?
