    Saletan acknowledges in the end that he finds opening up mental health records to public scrutiny to be a disturbing idea, but he apparently is willing to sacrifice the right to privacy in service of his hatred of guns.

    What he and you, Mikeb, fail to understand is that you're hunting mice with an elephant gun. Crazies who go on spree shootings are exceedingly rare. Changing fundamental rights--and I'm talking more than just guns here--for something that is emotionally intense, but far from commonplace is exactly the wrong answer.

    1. That's bullshit, Greg. The ones who shoot dozens of school kids may be exceedingly rare, but crazies who misuse guns are as common as sand on the beach.
